Chiropractic can help with the repair of rotator cuff injuries of the shoulder, which is a type of tendonitis affecting the movement of the shoulder. Normally when you sprain the joint it causes inflammation of the tendons and ligaments and creates the muscles to not function properly. This combined with the shoulder going out of alignment causes this injury.

Shoulder injuries are commonly due to repetitive action in sports, falling on the shoulder and repetitive strain due to the shoulder being in the same position for too long, such as at a desk or on a computer. Quite often these injuries can creep up on you over time, you might experience soreness or tightness in the shoulder that you feel will just go away and then one morning you wake up and are unable to move the shoulder. The stress on the shoulder over time has now injured and weakened the ligaments and tendons, inflammation and adhesions in the joint can now cause frozen shoulder.

Chiropractors can help by adjusting the shoulder and realigning the way the ligaments and muscles work to restore proper function to the shoulder. This along with muscle work and stretches get the shoulder functioning better which then reduces the inflammation and the scaring that has occurred because of the injury there. An advantage of ongoing chiropractic care is that we help prevent these injuries and when the injuries occur the recovery time is quicker when regularly being adjusted.

Here at Sheen Road Chiropractic, we take a holistic approach and look at the overall wellness of the body. We correct posture imbalances, pain like symptoms, misalignments of the joints whilst looking at the emotional and chemical imbalances that can contribute to this.
