Good Mood, Good Posture

How to have good posture

'Stand up straight!' Might have been something you heard regularly from your mother but she may not have known the full benefits of standing and sitting up straight. Numerous studies show that maintaining good posture can also elevate your mood and reduce stress.

According to research from San Francisco State University Professor of Health Education Erik Peper, Ph.D., "walking with a slouched or despondent body posture can lead to feelings of depression or decreased energy, but those feelings can be reversed by walking in a more upright position"

Standing in an expansive posture, even if you're not feeling confident, can increase testosterone and cortisol levels in the brain. Embracing such “power poses” can even affect your chances for success, it's a "fake it till you make it" for your body.
